Kansas St defeats Creighton 76-83
Kansas State Wildcats Stun Creighton Bluejays in Omaha
The Kansas State Wildcats (AWAY) brought an 83-point performance to the CHI Health Center Omaha, leaving the Creighton Bluejays (HOME) with a 76-73 defeat on Saturday night.
In a game that saw both teams trade baskets and neither able to pull away by more than five points in the final frame, Kansas State's balanced attack ultimately proved too much for Creighton to handle. The Wildcats' 51-33 halftime lead set the tone for the rest of the contest, but Creighton refused to back down.
Isaac Traudt led the Bluejays with a season-high 18 points on 4-of-8 three-point shooting, while Jasen Green chipped in with eight rebounds and six points off the bench. Ty Davis also had five assists, helping his team stay in the game despite their deficit.
Kansas State's David Castillo paced the Wildcats with 19 points on 2-for-4 three-point shooting, alongside a respectable 63.6% field goal percentage. Khamari McGriff added 12 points and six rebounds for Kansas State, which took advantage of its larger rebounding margin (42-35) to stay ahead.
The two teams combined for over 150 points, with both offenses demonstrating their ability to score from multiple levels. However, it was the Wildcats' more efficient shooting and strong team defense that ultimately decided the outcome. Kansas State's eFG% of 51.5% compared to Creighton's 49.2%, while the Wildcats also held a slight edge in true shooting percentage (55.6% vs. 54.6%).
The win for Kansas State marked their first non-conference road victory of the season, and it came in a closely contested game that showcased both teams' abilities. With this result, the Wildcats have now beaten two ranked opponents so far in the 2025-26 season.
Kansas State will head back to Manhattan with a 3-1 record, while Creighton falls to 2-2.
