UConn Stuns Providence with Thrilling Comeback in Amica Mutual Pavilion
In a dramatic turn of events, the University of Connecticut men's basketball team erased a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Providence College 103-98 in a thrilling conference matchup at the Amica Mutual Pavilion on Wednesday night.
The home crowd was electric as Providence took control early, leading by as many as 13 points in the first half. However, UConn's offense began to click in the second half, outscoring the Friars 52-37 to tie the game with just over 5 minutes remaining. The visitors then took the lead for good on a clutch three-pointer by Braylon Mullins, sparking an 8-0 run that sealed the victory.
Mullins finished with 24 points, including six threes, and shot 57.1% from the field to lead UConn's comeback effort. Silas Demary Jr. added 15 assists, while Tarris Reed Jr. chipped in with 20 points and eight rebounds.
