Omaha defeats YORKCOLNEB 105-58
Omaha Dominates York College in Statement Win
The University of Omaha used its home court advantage to dominate visiting York College, 105-58, in a non-conference matchup at Baxter Arena.
A halftime lead that had ballooned to 56-33 proved to be insurmountable as the Omaha Bulldogs extended their cushion by outscoring York College 49-25 in the second half. The largest leads of the game came from both teams, with Omaha holding a 47-point advantage and York College trailing by 0.
Omaha's Lance Waddles led the way for his team with 25 points on 7-of-13 three-point shooting, while Christian Richardson added 22 points and 13 rebounds. Ja'Sean Glover chipped in with 11 points and 10 assists.
For York College, Jadin Johnson was the lone bright spot, scoring 20 points on 3-of-8 three-point shooting. Eli Nutting contributed five rebounds and two assists for his team.
Omaha's balanced attack led to a strong overall performance, as they shot 51% from the field, including 38% from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs also outrebounded their opponents 57-33 and committed just seven turnovers.
In contrast, York College struggled with its outside shooting, going just 29% from the field and converting only one of eight three-point attempts. The visiting team's 30.3% offensive rebounding rate was not enough to offset their struggles on defense.
The Bulldogs' win marked a statement performance for the Omaha program, as they took care of business against a non-conference opponent. With its strong home court advantage and balanced attack, Omaha looks poised to make a push in the conference standings.
