West Georgia Cruises Past Brewton-Parker in Non-Conference Showdown
In a dominating performance, the West Georgia Wolves handed visiting Brewton-Parker the loss 70-49 on Thursday night at The Coliseum.
The home team came out strong in the first half, building a 27-21 lead that stood going into halftime. From there, it was a one-sided affair as West Georgia's offense continued to click and its defense shut down Brewton-Parker's attempts to mount a comeback.
Shelton Williams-Dryden led the charge for West Georgia, scoring 18 points on 42.9% shooting from the field. The sophomore also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out three assists, all while causing two turnovers.
The Wolves' balanced attack was a major factor in their success, as they shot 43.2% from the field overall and made 13 of 19 free throws. West Georgia's defense was equally impressive, holding Brewton-Parker to just 36.5% shooting and forcing 18 turnovers.
Brewton-Parker's Jayden Hill led all scorers with 10 points on 50% shooting from the field, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Wolves' decisive margin of 21 points.
