Buffalo defeats Ball State 85-72
Buffalo Hosts Ball State in Thrilling Conference Win
The University at Buffalo (UB) men's basketball team put on a dominant performance at home, topping visiting Ball State 85-72 in a crucial Mid-American Conference matchup.
At halftime, the Bulls held a commanding 41-25 lead, setting the tone for a game that would see them extend their advantage to as many as 24 points. Despite struggling from beyond the arc in the second half, Buffalo's offense continued to find ways to score, thanks in large part to the hot shooting of Ryan Sabol.
Sabol, who finished with 22 points and five assists, was a one-man show for much of the game. His four three-pointers helped spark the Bulls' attack, and he also provided significant support on the defensive end, including a key block that contributed to Ball State's struggles at the rim.
On the other side, Devon Barnes led the Cardinals with 20 points, but was unable to overcome the deficit. Despite his efforts, Ball State struggled to find consistency, particularly from beyond the arc, where they shot just 44.4% (9-25).
The Bulls' defense played a key role in their victory, holding Ball State to just 40% shooting overall and limiting them to a season-low 72 points. Tim Oboh was instrumental in this effort, grabbing five rebounds and chipping in 21 points of his own.
In the end, Buffalo's balanced attack proved too much for Ball State to handle, as they took home the 85-72 win. The victory marked a significant statement for the Bulls, who improved their conference standings with the crucial road win.
